What's Happening in the County:

  • Arden Arcade Community Forum Recap – Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our November 12 event; answers to questions submitted will be posted online soon and an audio recording of the forum is available online.
  • November 20 & 21 H1N1 Flu Clinics Rescheduled – Sacramento county Public Health is cancelling Friday’s and Saturday’s vaccination clinics in light of expected weather and parking problems. For an updated vaccination clinic schedule, view the press release.
  • Get Your Pets Prepared for Winter Weather! – As temperatures continue to drop, the Sacramento County Animal Care Facility wants to remind pet owners to take a few simple precautions to ensure that their pets are ready for the cold and wet winter months. View the cold weather pet safety tips for more information.
  • Rake Leaves to Prevent Flooding – Heavy rains are forecasted this week so don’t forget to rake your leaves to minimize neighborhood flooding. To report flooding please call 875-RAIN (7246) and for more tips on how you can be storm ready, visit www.StormReady.org.
  • H1N1 News and Updates – Sacramento County Supervisors approved an emergency declaration to proactively allow resource management if the H1N1 virus has a significant upturn in our area. Details of the declaration and current status of virus activity are posted on Public Health website. To get the H1N1 Flu vaccination, view the clinic schedule.   • Gibson Ranch Park to Close for Winter – As of November 23, Gibson Ranch Park will close for the winter. The closure will increase chances of reopening on weekends in spring. The equestrian facilities, operated by the concessionaire will remain open. For more information, view press release or visit Regional Parks website.
  • Deadline for Appealing 2009-10 Property Tax Assessments – If you disagree with the assessed value on your 2009-10 property tax bill, the deadline for filing an assessment appeal is Monday, November 30, 2009. For more information, visit the Assessment Appeals Board website. As a reminder, the first installment payment of your property tax bill is due no later than December 10. If you own property and have not received a tax bill, you can obtain tax bill information online using your 14-digit parcel number. Please read the press release for more detailed information.
